The Milanese house Kruso has launched its first entirely online art auction. This exclusive contemporary art sale offers collectors and newcomers the opportunity to acquire modern masterpieces directly from home, combining economic accessibility with major international names.
How does the online sale of Kruso Art work?
The digital session will take place from June 12 to 17, featuring approximately 200 lots with low starting estimates. Users can place bids from any device during the five days. Additionally, to examine the lots of this first contemporary art auction in person, the Milan headquarters at Via De Amicis 36 will open on June 12, 15, and 16. The hours will be from 10:00 to 19:00.
What are the big names in the catalog?
The catalog features artists with a strong positioning. The estimates are accessible even to emerging collectors. Among the main lots stands out Enrico Baj with the work Maternità from 1973, valued between 600 and 800 euros. It is a work in Meccano on a wooden base. Co-founder of the Nuclear Movement in 1951 together with Sergio Dangelo, Baj defined a unique ironic stylistic figure. That said, the selection also offers Marino Marini, with the lyrical lithograph Aquarius from 1978, estimated at 300-600 euros.
On the international front, the British engraver Henry Moore is represented by Sculptural Ideas 3 from 1980. This six-color etching and aquatint, created with the historic Roman printing house 2RC Editrice, is estimated at 400-600 euros. Additionally, the theorist of constructive abstraction Victor Pasmore participates with splendid artworks on paper: an etching from 1985 also offered at 400-600 euros.
Masterpieces of 20th-century Italian and international art
The catalog also boasts the presence of Mimmo Paladino, a prominent figure of the Italian Transavantgarde. His creations are featured in prestigious institutions, including the MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. However, the auction also offers the talent of the Uruguayan sculptor Pablo Atchugarry, an author with marked commercial success. Overall, the offer is completed by some interesting graphics related to the universe of the Spanish master Joan Miró.
Space for sculpture: from Rainaldi to Esposito
Italian sculpture finds space thanks to an untitled plaster work by Oliviero Rainaldi, estimated at 1,800-2,000 euros. The work focuses entirely on the study of the human figure. In contrast to this style, the painted wood sculpture by Enzo Esposito, quoted at 600-800 euros, reflects the climate of the New-New of the Eighties.
