The latest session organized by Il Ponte Casa d’Aste featured the auction of vintage jewelry and collectible watches. Total sales exceeded 4 million euros, confirming the great buzz in this market.

What were the results of the jewelry auction?

The session dedicated to important jewelry, held on May 28 and 29, totaled a remarkable 3.5 million euros in revenue. This event saw the sale of 86% of the lots offered, with an average increase of 165% compared to the starting estimates.

Moreover, the exceptional quality of the catalog attracted buyers from all over the world. This result highlights the solidity of vintage jewelry as a safe haven.

What were the most desired lots?

The true star of the sale was lot 607, a platinum ring with an octagonal diamond of 20.52 carats, sold for 189,000 euros. Also noteworthy was lot 614, a platinum ring with an octagonal sapphire of 7.77 carats, which reached 132,300 euros.

That said, jewelry auctions of this caliber demonstrate the strong resilience of luxury goods in the current economic landscape. Among the signature pieces, lot 615, a snake necklace in platinum and diamonds totaling approximately 40 carats, captivated the audience, being sold for 119,700 euros.

The success of collectible watches

In parallel, the auction on June 4 titled “Wrist and Collectible Watches” recorded an equally extraordinary performance. The auction totaled over 560,000 euros in revenue, with 90% of the lots sold and an increase of 142% compared to the estimates.

However, historic brands literally dominated the Milan session. The top lot was the Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 7018/1A-10, sold for 57,600 euros.

Similarly, the Nautilus “Jumbo” Ref. 3700/11 J was sold for 48,640 euros. Finally, the highly coveted IWC Schaffhausen Portuguese Minute Repeater Limited Edition changed hands for 29,440 euros.

Overall, the excellent performance of both sessions confirms that the precious and historic timepieces sector is in excellent health. The interest of global collectors remains extremely high.
