The Phillips jewelry auction, held on November 10, 2025 at the Hôtel Président in Geneva, set a new record with total sales of CHF 13.7 million (equivalent to 17 million dollars).

The auction recorded a sale rate of 85% by lot and 90% by value, confirming the international success of the Phillips jewelry auction and the growing interest in high-quality vintage jewelry.

The undisputed protagonist of the auction was the Vanderbilt family collection, entirely sold and able to exceed the initial estimate by four times, with a total of CHF 3.4 million (US$ 4.25 million).

The symbolic piece, “The Vanderbilt Sapphire” by Tiffany & Co., a magnificent Kashmir sapphire of 42.68 carats with diamonds, was sold for CHF 2.876 million (US$ 3.57 million).   • Ring with 20.08 carat Paraiba tourmaline – CHF 438,600.
  • Ring with G Colour diamond, VVS2, 13.02 carats – CHF 374,100.
  • Van Cleef & Arpels pendant from the ’20s – CHF 335,400.
  • Bulgari “Serpenti” belt 1970s – CHF 296,700.

Many of these lots exceeded the highest estimates, confirming the market’s interest in signed jewelry and in the iconic designs of Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Graff.

International Participation and Global Interest

The event welcomed over 1,600 visitors and bidders from 44 countries, with bids in the room, online, and by phone. According to Benoît Repellin, Worldwide Head of Jewellery at Phillips, “the results attest to the timeless appeal of historical jewelry and the expertise of our international collectors”.

This success consolidates the reputation of Phillips as a worldwide reference point in the vintage jewelry market, alongside houses like Christie’s and Sotheby’s.

The Geneva Jewels Online Auction will continue until November 13, 2025, while the next live Phillips jewelry auction is scheduled in New York on December 8, 2025.
